Srsly, it has only been just the first week of school, but there is already so much to do! I have a research paper due every week, I have 2 presentations coming up, 1 oncurring long project to do, a single presentation to do, and on top of that, I have to be practicing my skills during clinic/lab. :\ Its a hand full. Theres so much to learn! @A@!!!

Its funny ~ A lot of people underestimate what a Dental Hygienist is. And just by the first week of class, I would have to say, I am one of those people. I srsly thought we "just clean teeth" But noo nonononononononoooooo nooooooooooo~~ Theres soooooooooo much more to it. We are basically like the Dentist... the only thing we DONT do.. is pull teeth out. but otherwise... its crazy how much crap we have to learn!
Basically we are the ones who take care of all the possible diseases that can happen in the mouth. People don't realize this, but things that happen in your mouth, can affect your WHOLE entire body. There are so many medical situations and details that we have to know in order not to cause more harm to the body. I would have to be able to identify everything and anything that is going on in your mouth. There are a bajillion things that can happen as well. Madness I tell you! Not only that, we have to be able to know how to cure every nook and crack you got in that mouth! Sooo much to learn and to! Soon, I would have to know what each crack, groove, put, curve, sides of EVERY tooth in the mouth by heart and by dimensions. Also, learn all the nerves that run in the mouth so I can do the anesthesia injection correctly too! There is just so much to learn! haha ~ Its really quite overwhelming!
ALSO ontop of all this medical stuff ~ theres also perfecting of techniques. Its really hard to position yourself correctly and hold the instrument correctly without jabbing someone. Trust me.. all the instruments I have... are freakin sharp as hell. LOL I love it <3 ! costed me like... 4k .. but wow... its gorgeous LOL XD
We are also nutritionist and educators. We have to learn how to be TEACHERS at the same time :\ ! I also have to learn how to make lesson plans which I have like 3 due soon =A= fml .!!! Learning how to teach is very important in the process of preventing peridontal diseases!! GAHHH!!! I will learn how Bear feels like when she teaches. LOL XD ! Hopefully I will be an awesome teacher as well. hehe XD !

ENOUGH ABOUT THAT~!! Now to do my hw.. I am pacing myself really well. So ... so far.. so good? haha~ The only thing that gets me is everyone is nagging on me how driving to school everyday is a big waste of time. But its actually not that bad. I do have to wake up early, but it gets me started well. This is a rough summary of how my schedule goes ~
5AM: Wake up
6AM: Start driving
7AM: Arrive at school, take nap (yes I have pillow and blanket in my car)
7:45AM: slowly wake up
8AM: At Library studying and reading, and relooking notes.//or Class starts.
9AM: Breakfast
9:45 AM: Class
12 PM: Lunch
1PM: Class/Clinic
5PM: Start driving home?
6:30PM: Arrive home scarf dinner.... =A=
7PM: HW/READ
10PM: Sleep.
Thats basically the gist of it. LOL XD ;;; Iono how the hell I am going to stay up studying for when the midterms and finals come around... OTZ I think Ima just bumm at friends...
ANYWHO~ this blog is already too long and I need to get back to work! AWAY I GO!

Ara!! I come from a country where it's normal to wake up at 4am and spend 4 hours on the road going to and from work and school so I totally understand!! Here, if you get a dorm and you don't need a boat or a plane to get home, they're like, you live so close, what do you need a dorm for LOL ~ but I know it's different there ^__^
ReplyDeleteAraaaaa I know that DH school is practically like dentist school!!! What I know is like, if dentist school is learning 10 out of 10, DH school is like 7 or 8 out of the 10 to be a dentist, right? ((so sorry me ish stoopid)) Just like I know that you can totally hack it!!! Because you are Tsucchi and you can do anything!!! I know you can handle it all with one hand tied behind your back!! I just get worried that you will get too tired and maybe (hopefully NEVER) get sick because of all the stress!! But in terms of handling it? Ai-ya ~ too easy for Tsuper Tsucchi!! It's like no match for your powers!!!
Your practise teeth are a little scary I think ~ they didn't... belong to someone did they? ^O^***

DeleteOH WOW! Thats how its like in your country!? I had no idea! Yea. its totally different here. I guess we would be a lot more spoiled. haha XD But yea ~ Its definitely crazy. Actually, It reminds me a lot of my schedule during high school minus the driving by myself. During hs, I wake up at 5 to go to my aunts place at 6 then get ready for school at 7 and school starts at 8 and then ends around 2-3. So yea.. Its similar ~~ haha but a lot less tiring.
ITS TRUE! What you said is totally true! Dentist would be 10/10 and we are basically 7-8/10 !! :\ Its very very true!! But in LESS amount of time =-=! We do 2 yrs instead of 4. But I srsly think they should change it to 3. =-=!
Well my teeth will be ready for ya when you need it o.o and then you can tell me ALLLL the things wrong with it
